Jacob
Hi! I’m Jacob, a fourth-year Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) major at UCLA. My transfer journey began at UCSB, where I was originally a pre-biology major. While there, I had the chance to work as a general chemistry lab learning assistant, helping over 50 students through hands-on lab work. I also briefly tutored 7th and 8th graders in debate, teaching them how to adapt and approach problems strategically—something I’m really passionate about.
When I decided to transfer, I quickly realized how overwhelming the process could be. There were limited resources, unclear course requirements, and it felt like there wasn’t much of a support network. But through trial and error, I figured out how to plan my courses, craft a narrative for my application, and manage my coursework.
Now, I’m a learning assistant at UCLA, working with biochemistry students to help them better understand the material and problem-solve in a way that sticks. I’m also a research assistant for the Magnetic Resonance Research Labs at the David Geffen School of Medicine, and I’m currently working on getting my EMT certification as part of my pre-med journey.
At UniSpring, we want to help you overcome the same obstacles I faced during my transfer process. Whether your reason for transferring is academic, personal, or something else entirely, we’re here to help guide you through it all, step by step.
If you’d like to hear more about my experience or need help with your own transfer process, feel free to email me at jacobkhuu@g.ucla.edu. You can also schedule a consultation with our team at unispring.team@gmail.com. I’m excited to help you get to where you want to be!
